HALF A PERSON
By Gavin Crippin. Presented by A' Rebours Theatre Company.
A' Rebours Theatre Company bring the play Half a Person to Studio Salford for their debut production in the space. Half a Person is the second play written by Manchester based writer Gavin Crippin. Previously performed in April to packed houses at Nexus Arts Café in the Northern Quarter, this production sees a slightly tweaked cast and a re worked production specifically designed for Studio Salford.
Jimmy’s convinced himself he can’t let go, so he can’t go out! It’s just now Katie’s found him, it doesn’t seem she wants to either!
When the only thing left to do just seems to be cutting yourself off from everyone, why is it that the right thing to do is actually let another person in?
Half A Person is a comic, disturbing and often very poignant look at existing on the edge of your own sanity when the worst possible thing that could happen, actually does.
"I don’t think anyone should be on their own; it’s not in our nature, is it?" – Katie
"Why would you say that?" – Jimmy.
"I just think everyone has a crux, and it’s usually someone else." – Katie.
